How We Began

Our History of W Wright Electrical and Mechanical

W Wright Electrical and Mechanical was founded in 1978 as W Wright Electrical Ltd trading as an electrical contractor with its base in Sheffield by the present Managing Director William Wright.

The company became an NICEIC approved contractor in 1978 and joined the Electrical Contractor’s Association in 1981 as well as becoming the first South Yorkshire Electrical Contractor to join Constructionline.

Our client base has customers in the commercial, education, health, industrial, leisure and licensing sectors including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Council, BOC Gases, University of Sheffield, Avison Young and Punch Taverns.

With a growing demand from our client base to provide a fully integrated mechanical and electrical solution for their requirements, the company expanded with the addition of an in house mechanical department of office based engineers and site based operatives.

Our people are the key to the success of our business and the delivery of projects is achieved through our workforce of various directly employed mechanical and electrical disciplines who are registered with the JIB. Supporting our site operatives is a highly skilled office based engineering and administration team. All site operatives possess CSCS cards and the company has a programme designed to continually develop our workforce through skills and health & safety training.

W Wright Electrical & Mechanical have the capability and resources to take a project through the various stages of concept, design, installation, testing and commissioning as well as assisting the client in a future pre planned maintenance programme and for those unforeseen emergencies through our reactive maintenance service.

We are accredited with ISO 9001 and are committed to providing a quality service to our clients. Our aim is to ensure reliability, functionality, maintainability and appearance.
