Description of the project

York Race Course wanted to replace the existing stable block and build a new pavilion due to an increase in visitor numbers. W Wright Electrical & Mechanical carried out the mechanical and electrical building services to the new stable block, pavilion as well as upgrading existing building adjacent to the new stable and pavilion.

Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, Huntsman theatres air ahndling units

Client: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals

Description of the project

W Wright Electrical & Mechanical was the Principal Contractor for the refurbishment of the air handling plant that serves the Huntsman Theatres. Careful planning and co-ordination was required to ensure that there was no disruption to the Hospital during the works which were carried out over two phases.

AHU 01 – Serving Reception, Orthopaedic Store, Corridor, Workshop, Waiting Area and Offices

The scope of works included

Heating & cooling pipework
Condensate pipework
Medical gas services
Air handling plant to HTM regulations
Heat recovery from the extract air via thermal wheels and internal plate heat exchangers
Supply & extract ductwork from the AHU's connecting to new ductwork including smoke dampers to fire compartments
Building management system control (BMS)
Surgeon panels with the theatres interfaced with the BMS
Modifications to fire alarm and detection system
Trace heating to external pipework
Insulation to all pipework & ductwork
AHU support steelwork to roof supporting Phase 1 - AHU 03

Description of the project

Elizabeth House is a modern 5 storey office building located in Leeds city centre. We were tasked with providing the mechanical building services to the building which is also Grade A listed. The project involved the refurbishment of 25,000 sq ft. of office space and was carried out on design and build basis.

Concrete railway sleeper factory, Trackwork Moll, Doncaster

Client: J F Finnegan

Description of the project

Trackwork Moll is a joint venture between Trackwork of Doncaster and Leonhard Moll Betonwerke of Munich with the purpose of supplying Network Rail with 400000 concrete railway sleepers per annum. A new 68000 sq ft bespoke sleeper production facility including two storey office and external yards was built with W Wright supplying the mechanical and electrical building services.

Description of the project

Can Pack, who are a worldwide manufacturer of beverage cans, needed to create additional storage space to meet the growing requirements of their customer base. The company produces two billion cans per year and storage space was at a premium so an additional 9000m2 storage area was created.

The Castle

Description of the project

The Castle Inn is located in the historic gritstone village of Spofforth five miles south east of Harrogate and 3 miles from Wetherby and the A1. The Georgian coaching inn is located in the centre of the village and saw a major renovation to the building with restaurant, bar lounge and accommodation with nine individually designed en-suite bedrooms.
